I have been looking at the videos of the Left's riots during the Trump rally in Minneapolis last night. Back in 2008, after Barack Obama's election, thousands were wearing "Yes We Can, " and "Hope" T-shirts and hats in the street. (There were also quite a few people waiving the red hammer and sickle Communist flag, but that's for a different blog post). I don't remember any Republicans or Conservatives attacking the Obama supporters. I don't remember any Conservatives looking for a crying closet in a safe space, or booking an appointment with a therapist either.
The police need to move in and suppress this kind of behavior. Once a demonstration turns violent, the order should be given to cease and desist. After they refuse, you treat them like the police did to the demonstrators during the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago. From what I remember, the governor also sent in the National Guard. You have a right to PEACEFUL assembly guaranteed in the First Amendment of the US Constitution. You do not have a right to riot, attack other people, and steal their property. Throw a rock at a cop, get a wooden nightstick smashed across your face.
